Who is Scientific Dude?

It is hard to trust everything you read now-a-days. For instance, just earlier today while checking my email I thought I had won a new iPad.  All I had to do was fill out a quick survey and enter in my Credit Card information (strictly for identficiation purposes, of course), and the iPad was mine.  Well, I did all this, and I still have yet to recieve one.  Also afterward, when I checked my credit information, my debt was far too low to be true.  Why can't anyone tell the truth?

EDIT:  Upon checking with my Credit company, the information regarding my debt is true.  It's funny, but I don't seem to remember purchasing over $10,000 worth of eBay items.  However, this doesn't explain why I still haven't gotten my iPad!

Because of all these eerie sources of news and information in the modern world, you may at first be skeptical about trusting Scientific Dude, especially if you don't understand what - or who - Scientific Dude is.  Let me explain:

Scientific Dude is a humorist crusade on the marvels of the scientific world;  it is a journey into the depths of technological awe (-someness).  With Scientific Dude as your guide on this bewildering expedition of intellect, you will not only discover the workings of modern miracles, but also revel in the rapturous mind-blowing ride along the way.

Of course, you may now be thinking that Scientific Dude is a joint project created and edited by a group of PhD wielding scholars.  This is actually incorrect.  It's just me.  I'm just a dude, working my way through college.  I like to write, and I enjoy science.  Thus, Scientific Dude was created.

However, the real question is can Scientific Dude be trusted?  Is this a reliable source of wisdom?  You may proclaim, "You say you are still in College.  There are many people out there with College degrees, but still appear to be lacking mentally.  How can I trust someone who has yet to even graduate?"  You ask to many questions.

I must admit though, that when compared intellectually to the competitors, I may not be the overall victor.  Take a look at the chart below, which compares me - among several other sources - in terms of total intelligence:

As you can see, the Internet is king of knowledge.  Sure, it has its rational flaws (take the Youtube comments section for example), but seriously, it knows everything.  And anything that it doesn't know, you can just upload - it's always learning!  Einstein gets the silver, and that leaves me with the bronze.

A beaver and a Magic 8 Ball are bringing in the rear.  It's amazing, but nearly 50% of the time I shake that thing, it gets the answer right!  Presumably because yes/no questions carry a 50-50 probability factor, but I like to think that there is actually a little brain ticking away inside of those things.  And beavers build cozy little lodges, which is more than most people can do, so they deserve a place on the intelligence chart.

However, what most people forget, is that I have both the Internet and a Magic 8 Ball at my disposal!  So after you factor that into the equation:

Victory is mine!

I tried to get a beaver, but they can be a bit "bite-y".  Also, you may have noticed that a beaver with a Magic 8 Ball is just about as smart as I am.

I hope that this section has cleared up a few of your concerns, and that you can now surf the site at ease.  Just relax, and allow your frontal lobe to indulge on satisfyingly enticing knowledge.
